It Became The 4th Center In Europe
Selma KUNAR/ANTALYA, (DHA)- The scarless robotic thyroid surgery performed through the inside of the lip, which was previously carried out in TURKEY under the leadership of Ege University Faculty of Medicine faculty member Prof. Dr. Özer Makay, was performed again under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Makay at the general surgery clinic of Antalya Training and Research Hospital (EAH).
Following a two-day training during which Prof. Dr. Makay shared his endoscopic and robotic surgery experience, Antalya EAH became the 4th center in Europe where this surgery can be performed with the scarless robotic thyroid surgery through the inside of the lip. In the training held at the general surgery clinic of Antalya EAH, practical and theoretical information was provided to general surgery specialists, and it was noted that the training need related to the subject has increased as robotic surgeries have become usable in many areas over time.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bülent Dinç from the General Surgery Clinic of Antalya EAH stated that interest in the training program was intense. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bülent Dinç stated that they want to hold similar training meetings with Prof. Dr. Makay in the future as well. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinç added that with such surgeries brought to our country thanks to Prof. Dr. Makay and other physicians interested in the subject, Turkish medicine is a candidate to lead Europe.
